Jezebel

Jezebel, Jezebel...

Wiki says... that originally this name would have been translated as Virgin of Baal, but a letter was added to the name so as to give it a negative meaning Whore of Baal.
A letter, ha!... Ha ha!! A letter and everything changes...

Sade says...
Jezebel Jezebel
Won't try to deny where she came from
You can see it in her pride
And the raven in her eyes
Try show her a better way
She'll say you don't know what you've been missing
And by the time she blinks you know she won't be listening

Depeche Mode says...
They call you Jezebel
For what you like to wear
you're morally unwell :-))
They say you never care for me
But what the fail to see is that
your games are the key

And last but not least...
Jezebel (1938) is a dear movie. Bette Davis plays an arrogant Southern girl who tries to be forgiven for her mistakes in the end, to the man she has always loved (played by Henry Fonda). Unfortunately destiny does not help her much...

This is part of the scene where she wants to wear a red dress at a ball where unmarried young girls are allowed to wear only white.
Like I wouldn't have done the same!... But unlike her, I still wouldn't have got why that was wrong... :-)

And I wonder... why is there that in movies (classical American that is, but not only...) the characters with such dramas are always girls?...
Why only girls are rebels and love forever? And why boys always get over it?... Why girls dare, why girls fight, why girls are restless?...

Well I don't know why... but they make such, such beautiful characters... Amazingly beautiful... :-)

El amor en los tiempos del cólera

[Dragostea in vremea holerei, de Gabriel García Márquez]

"Am asteptat peste jumatate de secol aceasta oportunitate pentru a-ti jura din nou credinta eterna si dragoste nemarginita.
...Traisera destul impreuna ca sa-si dea seama ca dragostea era dragoste oricand si oriunde, dar cu atat mai intensa cu cat se apropia de moarte."

Aparent recent a fost facut si un film, pe care l-am gasit descris ca lame, dar sa vedem... Asta in 2007! Eu unde eram?!...

Cat despre carte... hmm, cartea...
It keeps me... thinking, awake and going! And for this I am thankful :-)

...oricand si oriunde.
